Review: Grill NinetyNine @ 142 Arab Street

A visit was made on Wednesday 10 January 2021 at 6.45pm.

There were 4 of us. We found this place through an online search for western food around Sultan Mosque. We tried 3 main dish, 1 soup and a cake. For a start the Cream of Mushroom ($6) with bread was really tasty, creamy and thick. Probably one of the best mushroom soups ever tasted. We ordered Lamb Rack ($29.90). Great filling, tender and absolutely delicious. We also ordered Salmon ($20) and it was truly satisfying. The last order was Grilled Beef Burger ($15) and it was lovely as it was mouthwatering to look at with all the melting Raclette cheese (add $8.90 for that). Food was served with great presentation like how it would have been prepared for a photoshoot. Rainbow cake ($7.50) will appeal to those who must have something sweet to end a good meal.

In conclusion, you can't find fault with this place. The portion, taste and experience will get you to come back. In fact, soon after this visit I recommended a corporate dinner to be held less than a week later.

Branding and Customer Experience

Not sure what was the history behind the name as it wasn't explained anywhere but Grill Ninety Nine has a rather nice and memorable ringing tone to it. The ambiance is made to impress diners, very cosy and well decorated. Service is good and they are attentive. The ground floor can easily fit about 2 dozen pax comfortably and they do have an upper floor. Good location and direction easy to give - right opposite the entrance of the Village Bugis Hotel. If you want to be safe make a reservation wa 97312902.
