Review: Porterhouse (Andes by Aston) @ 6 Woodlands Square.

A visit was made on Tuesday 2 January 2021 at 2pm.

This outlet is a new Andes by Aston outlet. It is located at Woodlands Square just beside the Woodlands Civic Centre. We ordered 1 Porterhouse, 1 Black Pepper Steak and 1 Grilled Fish. Not the best that I have tasted for the food ordered but definitely ranked among the top. The portion and the tenderness is as expected with a near perfect score for taste. Ambiance is good and outlet is in a good location. Price is on the mid to semi-high scale with the porterhouse costing $29.90, the tenderloin at 28.90 and the grilled fish at 16.90.  Then again if the taste is good and experience is great, the price is not a key factor but here is where the problem starts - their service. So a 3 pax dining can take your in the $80 + range.

Branding and Customer Experience

As a respectable brand, the service is not up to mark. This is the problem when restaurant hire youngsters who are not trained in customer service. Their tardiness will tarnish the good name that the brand has invested in. During our visit, we encounter the following; 1. serving the soup of the day without giving the spoon. 2. we requested for an extra paper straw but it never came despite the service staff saying that he will get one for us. 3. the food were delivered outside when we were sitting inside (obviously a case of not knowing the table numbers). 4. wanting to clear the plates when we are still eating the last bits.

So the service for this outlet takes away all the good taste and experience. Brands should be mindful that service staff deployed represents the first hand contact with the brand long before the food was served (and yes by the way, food took a long time to be served despite the place being 50-60%% patronised at time of visit.
