Times are tough. We are in the midst of winding down our Woodlands outlet.
But we are still blessed to have a roof over our head and a few outlets to call our own.
We thought about it and we want to give back to the society albeit still treading water ourselves.
We have always believed that giving will not make us poorer and it has been something both of us believed in since we started the stall back in 2017.
So from tomorrow onwards, each outlet will be giving away free 5 bowls of regular prawn mee for dine in customers who somehow find themselves struggling to afford a meal. No questions asked, no judgement at all.
Limited to the first 5 customers of the day at all our outlets until end of the year.
Just tell our staff you want to redeem a bowl of regular prawn mee.
It has been a tough 1.5 years for all of us in the F&B business and other industries too. So this is us, lending a hand. ce your ad here for just $50 a month.

Rice not oily as most chicken rice and the chicken not that fresh. Sambal, not the usual chicken rice type. But because it was a cold wet Saturday afternoon it looks attractive on the billboard and I am sold. Or perhaps, It is really actually an ayam penyet rice and not chicken rice...

Managed to check out the new halal French cafe at Arab Street. For starters, I had the fried chicken wings which was marinated in sweet & spicy chilli sauce. Would rate it a 3/5 - was good but nothing significant. For main, I ordered the spicy prawn linguine which had 3 different spice levels. I chose the level 2 which was good enough for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was tiptop - was often checked upon to ensure everything I ordered was out and was to my liking. Definitely worth a try! Overall experience 4 out of 5. One downfall is you might walk past the place without noticing as it is located along the streets with a lot of other shops/cafes! Make sure to keep a look out or get your GPS out.

A sudden craving for Laksa had me travelling quite a distance from my comfort zone in Chai Chee to Mukmin Restaurant at Blk 129 Bedok North Avenue 2. This non-discreet stall tucked at a corner came highly recommended among the few Laksa sellers in Bedok. Truth be told it was a tad too salty for my liking. It could be better with more santan (coconut milk). The lack of enough santan brought out the fishiness of the gravy which rendered the dish overall salty. I reckon the stall is much better off with its Kacang Pool which quite a number of customers were ordering on this rainy day, Friday 8th January 2020. At $3, the Laksa was alright but the salty aftertaste lingered.

Ayam Percik @ WanderlustBy Fahmi RaisReview: Ayam Percik @ Wonderlost I tried the Ayam Percik which at $20 per set was among the lower-priced items on the menu. However, it didn't taste anything like the ayam percik I am used to. It tasted just like a smashed chicken with lots of sambal on it. Accompanied only by limited vegetable mix and mash potato. I feel that ayam percik is therefore over-rated and over-priced. I didn't enjoy it at all despite having it as my break fast meal. Probably the only meal throughout 27 days of Ramadhan that I didn't finish the plate. The sambal is plain (nothing wow about it) and the chicken is about the size of any KFC piece. For a 'posh up-market western' restaurant, the ayam percik is a complete letdown.
Chicken Rice @ Rex Changi RoadBy Fahmi RaisReview: Chicken Rice @ Rex Changi Road We had our birthday celebration baby Zara for 10 pax in 2 separate tables. So a variety of dishes was ordered with the chicken rice being the main. We had omelet, vegetables, butter prawn etc. Food was generally all ok. As commonly served, the rice is a small portion so some of us had to order extra rice. But for everything else the portion is relatively reasonable. Personally, I do not find the rice as nice or good as the one at Mackenzie at Prinsep Road. The whole chicken was expensive at $30 per serving.
Briyani Lamb at Spize Temasek ClubBy Fahmi RaisReview: Briyani Lamb @ Spize Temasek Club  We had our birthday celebration for 8 pax. Each of us ordered our own dish eg Nasi Goreng Kampung, Briyani Lamb, Shish Kebab, Pesto Chicken etc. While all of the dishes come in generous quantity it seems that the quality has dropped. Perhaps it might be due to a change of chef or that the restaurant is experiencing full house. My own briyani lamb is a disappointment. The lamb is not a chunk but came cut in smaller pieces. The rice is bland and the curry is not fitting of a restaurant expectation. At $14.90 it wasn't worth it. .The taste on a whole is below average and I would say the briyani at Geylang Serai / Jooc Chiat Complexfood centre or even Victory at North Bridge Road are far better. 4 of us returned home with uneasy stomach. The food obviously has lost its standard and falling behind the service and ambience that attracts people to the place.
